International Airport of Rio de Janeiro

Rio de Janeiro International Airport, better known as Galećo, connects more than 19 countries. The airport also links the main cities in Brazil with domestic flights. Nowadays It has two passenger terminals which are able to deal with over 15 million travellers per year. Located in the North Zone of Rio de Janeiro and only 20 kilometers away from downtown, the international airport can be reached by several access routes, such as the Linha Vermelha (Red Line) and Linha Amarela (Yellow Line) freeways and Brasil Avenue, thus conveniently serving residents of the city's southern, northern and western zones. There are special buses linking Galećo Airport to Santos Dumont Airport Downtown area.
