Landmarks of Science
The Landmarks of Science Collection is part of the Michel Debrun Library collection, consisting of 5,350 scientific works published from the 16th to the 19th century, in microfiche format. The Landmarks of Science Collection is the result of an editorial operation conducted by Readex Microprint Corporation, which, over a period of ten years, from 1966 to 1976, reproduced in “microprint” (a type of opaque microfiche) 3,900 works by approximately 2,000 authors, with a total of two and a half million pages of text. The collection was expanded with section II, published in microfiche format, in which a further 1,450 works by approximately 640 authors were reproduced. The usefulness of this collection for scholars of the history of science is evident, since it constitutes a systematic approach to the study of the greatest authors of the past, whose works are available both in original editions and in successive and significant editions and translations. The collection's subject matter is broad, covering areas such as mathematics, chemistry, physics, medicine, astronomy and astrology. The collection is available for local consultation.
