Michel Debrun Library - Landmarks of Science

The Michel Debrun Library's holdings include the Landmarks of Science Collection, comprising 5,350 scientific works published from the 16th to the 19th centuries in microfiche format.
The Landmarks of Science Collection is the result of an editorial operation conducted by Readex Microprint Corporation, which, over ten years, from 1966 to 1976, reproduced 3,900 works by approximately 2,000 authors on microfiche (a type of opaque microfiche), totaling two and a half million pages of text. The collection was expanded with Section II, also published on microfiche, which reproduced a further 1,450 works by approximately 640 authors.
The usefulness of this collection for scholars of the history of science is evident, as it constitutes a systematic approach to the study of the greatest authors of the past, whose works are available in both original editions and significant successive editions and translations. The collection's subject matter is broad, covering areas such as mathematics, chemistry, physics, medicine, astronomy, and astrology.
The collection is available for local consultation.
