Synopsis

"The articles in this book come from contributions to the event “Theologia Naturalis”, planned as part of the activities of the project “Formal Approaches to Philosophy of Religion and Analytic Theology (Grant ID 61108)”, financed by the John Templeton Foundation. This event was supposed to take place in Campinas in 2020 and, unfortunately, it could not be held, due to the COVID-19 Pandemic that ravaged the world. An online event entitled “New Perspectives in Philosophy of Religion” was organized as part of the same project in the hope that the end of social isolation would allow the event to be held in person. Unfortunately, the completion of the project before the return to normal activities meant that the postponed event was canceled. Even under these circumstances, we are pleased to publish this volume as a contribution to discussions in the philosophy of religion. This book is the first to cover this theme in the Coleção CLE. In addition to the Pandemic, other unfortunate events meant that the work took longer to be published than its editors wanted. For this reason, we thank the authors for their patience during the editing process. We would like to thank the John Templeton Foundation for all the support of our project. We hope this book serves as a simple gesture of tribute to everyone who suffered and left us during this unprecedented global crisis in recent history."
